James Fair, DTM
Second Year International Director
 James Fair, DTM of Athens, Georgia has been a Toastmaster
for fourteen years. He is the Director of Housing Management for the
Athens Housing Authority.
James' Vision
My vision is to spread the word about the benefits of Toastmasters that
is held by its members who strive to improve their ability to speak and
communicate effectively.
I will continue to reach out and encourage people to join the journey
to success provided by the Toastmasters program.
Albert Schweitzer, one said, "The purpose of Human life is to
serve, and to show compassion and the will to help others." On the community
level, James is very active and serves in leadership positions on a number
of boards. He is president of the Athens Tutorial Program, Athens Regional
Medical Center Board Member, Athens Chamber of Commerce Mentor Program
and Vice President Members Services of the Southeastern Regional Council.
James served as District 14 Governor in 2000-2001, and led his District
to Select Distinguish number 8 in the world. Prior to serving as District
Governor, he served as Lt. Governor Education Training, Lt Governor Marketing,
Public Relations Officer, and Area Governor. He has assisted Districts
throughout Region VIII with training and as a motivational speaker.
James has a BS degree in Business Management and Masters of Education.
He is also a Certified Gerontology and enjoys working with people. When
James is not participating in Toastmasters he enjoys traveling, reading,
photography, collecting music, and playing the guitar.
