District 47

Serving Toastmaster Clubs
in South Florida and
The Islands of the Bahamas

Kristina Kihlberg, DTM

Pamela Rolle, DTM
District Governor

Pamela was born on the island of New Providence, Bahamas.  She joined Toastmasters in November 2000 and visited Toastmasters Clubs for five years before becoming a member.  Pamela was terrified of Table Topics and did not want to speak in front of an audience.  She always left the room during Table Topics to make sure she was never asked a question. Pamela soon realized that running away was not the answer so she decided to face her fears and join Toastmasters.  Now instead of running away, she finds herself running to get to meetings on time.

Pamela is the 2011 - 2012

District 47 Governor, served as Lt. Governor Education & Training for District 47 in 2010 - 2011 and Lt. Governor Marketing in 2009-1010.  Pamela also served District 47 as Membership Chair (South) prior to the District split in 2007 – 2008, Chief Judge at the 2006 – 2007 Fall Humorous Speech Contest and a 2005 Spring Conference Presenter.  At the Club level, Pamela served as President, Vice President Education and Vice President Membership.
As a Toastmaster, we can all agree that the harder you work, the greater your rewards.  Preparing for assignments, and attending meetings may seem challenging at times, but you have to stick with it and be prepared to give it your all. If you are a Club President, take the liberty to appoint a team of Advisors who can give guidance and support during your term in office.  Club Officers are encouraged to form committees to assist them with their duties.

If you are a new member, take advantage of the Mentoring program. It works!  There is always an answer to every question.  Never feel as though you are working alone.  You WILL have support and encouragement from your Fellow Toastmasters.  Be willing to meet new friends and be open to receiving feedback from your weekly assignments. Take the feedback, work at polishing your act and I guarantee you will become a great Toastmaster.

As the District 47 Governor, Pamela’s goal is to serve the members with respect and humility.  It is her desire that all members in all Clubs across the District commit themselves to earning as many education goals as possible in one year.  This year, we had members earning as many as 13 goals…WOW!  Imagine that!  If they could do it, you can do it too!  Earning education goals mean Clubs are meeting regularly and members are given the opportunity to overcome speaking fears at the lectern.

In Pamela’s spare time, she works in Wealth Management as an Assistant Vice President and Trust Officer at Cititrust (Bahamas) Limited, Nassau Bahamas.  She holds an MBA from Nova Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from St. Augustine’s College, Raleigh North Carolina.  Pamela is also a member of the Society of Trust Estate & Practitioners (S.T.E.P.), London England and joined the sisterhood of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. in spring 1993.
Pamela is single with no children but values family time. She is the Praise & Worship leader at her church and serves as a mentor for young women in the Northeastern District of New Providence, Bahamas.  Pamela’s philosophy is that in order to succeed, you must have, vision, you must have a plan, have the ability to execute that plan while operating with integrity and the greatest respect for the individual. Pamela   loves meeting people, loves to travel and is a huge lover of shoes….yes, she has a shoe fetish.
Pamela looks forward to serving District 47 and says it will be a year of learning and fun!
